Ginny Update - October 9-10, 2014

October 9, 2014

Good morning,

Ginny had a fever overnight. They stopped her blood thinner to reduce bruising. Still not tolerating feeding very well, vomiting. Restarting albumin and lasiks to reduce the increased swelling and increased waste release. Not responsive to voice today.

I leave here tomorrow to drive home. I believe Lorraine will be here Saturday and return to work Monday. Theresa will be here on Sunday and return home next weekend. Next week, I will be immersed administratively with paying Ginny's bills, meeting attorney and banker, mortgage company, insurance agent and the HOA at her house since there is construction underway and I stopped it. I will not be able to be here therefore but I may need to drive to Arizona. So as of next Sunday Ginny will be here alone

God bless,
Charles

Just met Dr. Prasad, oncologist and he said, they are going to do the scan in the morning. The most recent X-ray and bronchoscopy showed that she still has the pneumonia, but the scan will give a better look at the pneumonia as well as the actual size of the tumor. Next week will be crucial as far as the extubation and potential tracheostomy. If the tumor is shrinking and they can do the trach she could be moved to a rehab facility within about three weeks. He said his intention would be to move her to a location in Bullhead City which would help her to be close to her friends. Since I have met several of them, I am assured they would be there for her.

God bless,
Charles

Just spoke with Dr Tavares. The tumor has shrunk from 7.9 cm to 5.3 cm. We will have to see if we can get rid of the pneumonia before we know what next steps are.

God bless,
Charles
